Activities under Industry-Institute Interaction 

      A wide variety of activities has been taken up in collaboration with industry to improve the quality of pass outs.  The scope of the scheme is to promote industry-institute interaction in improving the quality of pass outs.  All concerned have freedom to think of additional inputs from industry, relate them to functions of technical education system, ultimate outcomes and system improvement.  Some of the major activities in the area of industry-institute interaction are: -

1.            Industrial Training of students and staff

      The students are provided training in the industries in the relevant fields and teachers are also exposed to industrial innovatives.

2.            Industrial Visits      

      The minimum two industrial visits are planned in each semester.

3.            Extension Lectures

      About 10 extension and expert lectures are organized in various fields for students.

4.            Project work

      All the students have to prepare one major and one minor project and students are preparing the utility items in their workshop practices.

5.            Students Evaluation

      The evaluation of students is carried out by associating practising engineers and experts from industry.

6.            Research Development and consultancy

      To update the knowledge and skill of teachers, the research development and consultancy activities have been undertaken by the institute.  This will also generate revenue.

7.            Continuing Education

      The institution has identified some continuing education programmes for working professionals in tune with changing industrial requirements.

8.            Career Guidance and job Placement of students

      Industry – Institute Interaction Cell is organizing career opportunities, seminars and conferences.

9.            Entrepreneurship Development

      With the industrial globalisation, the enterprises have to be developed by the budding engineers so six week entrepreneurship development programmes are regularly organized in the institute in collaboration with HARDICON and other banks

10.       Cooperative Education Programmes

      Some of emerging areas like; computer, electronics, mechanical, the efforts are being made to redesign these conventional programmes on co-operative basis.

11.       Apprenticeship Training Programmes

      There is a great potential of existing statutory provisions under the apprenticeship act for providing industrial exposure and inhand experience.  31 seats have been provided to the institute by Board of Entrepreneurship Training, Kanpur for Graduate Engineers, Diploma Engineers & I.T.I./Vocational Technicians.

12.       Internal Revenue Generation

      The sharing of industrial resources with the industries and utilizing the competence of staff to solve the industrial programme.  The revenue is being generated.
